21713 new energy logistics vehicles sold in June 2022

Recently, we learned from relevant sources that 21713 new energy logistics vehicles (including cross-type passenger vehicles and logistics heavy trucks) were sold in June 2022, up 34.2% from May. Among them, Geely Commercial Vehicle topped the list with 3459 sales, winning the sales champion in June, which is the first time that Geely Commercial Vehicle has won the championship this year. Ruichi New Energy ranked second with the sales of 3156 vehicles, while Xinyuan New Energy ranked third.

In June 2022, more than 50 automobile enterprises sold new energy logistics vehicles, of which the top 10 enterprises sold 14562 vehicles, accounting for 81.1% of the total sales of new energy logistics vehicles in June, up nearly 3 percentage points from May, and the market concentration was further improved. In terms of segmentation, the sales volume of Geely's commercial vehicles in June topped that of the runner-up and the runner-up, with a total of 3459 vehicles sold, up 71% from May (2023 vehicles, 15.11%), with a market share of 19.27%, up nearly 5% from May. Dongguan, Shenzhen and Chongqing are the cities with high sales of Geely commercial vehicles.

According to many dealers, the Star V6E launched by Geely Commercial Vehicles has great competitive advantages, which has boosted the sales of Geely Commercial Vehicles. The sales volume of Ruichi New Energy in June was 3156 vehicles, up 44% month-on-month compared with May (2192 vehicles, 16.38%), and the market share slightly increased 1.2 percentage points month-on-month. However, Ruichi New Energy is still ranked second by Geely Commercial Vehicle with a small gap. Xinyuan New Energy continued its status in May, ranking third, with 1308 vehicles sold, with a year-on-year growth rate of only 4.1%, gradually widening the gap with the first and second places.

The sales of automobile enterprises ranked 4-6 also exceeded 1000, including Guangxi Automobile (1251, 6.97%), Kairui New Energy (1081, 6.02%) and SAIC MAXUS (1064, 5.93%). 7-10 are: Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (933 vehicles, 5.20%), Zhilan Motor Co., Ltd. (925 vehicles, 5.15%), Chang'an Kaicheng Motor Co., Ltd. (895 vehicles, 4.98%), Xiamen Jinlv Motor Co., Ltd. (490 vehicles, 2.73%).

In addition to the above 10 enterprises, the enterprises with sales volume between 200 and 420 in June include: New Geo Auto, Hongyuan Auto, Shenlong Bus, SAIC-GM-Wuling and Xiamen Jinlong. From the perspective of ranking, among the top 10 enterprises with sales volume in June, BAIC Foton ranked the fastest, jumping to the 8th place from the 10th in May. Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. fell to the 7th place from the 4th place last month, and Hongyuan Motor Co., Ltd. fell out of the top 10.

From the perspective of sales growth, SAIC MAXUS ranked first in the top 10 with a month-on-month growth of 132.4%, followed by Geely Commercial Vehicle. Except for the negative growth of Dongfeng Motor (- 16.5%), other auto companies have increased by different degrees.

From the perspective of market share, Guangxi Auto, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., Chang'an Kaicheng and Xiamen Jinlv have all declined. According to the data released by the China Automobile Association on July 11, the sales of new energy vehicles were 596000 in June, up 33.4% from May. In June, the sales of new energy logistics vehicles increased 34.2% month-on-month, outpacing the growth rate of new energy vehicles.

According to the prediction of the China Automobile Association, the total sales volume of commercial vehicles in 2022 will be 4 million, while only 1.702 million vehicles were completed in the first half of the year. The rate of commercial vehicles in the second half of the year will probably usher in a wave of high growth, and the new energy commercial vehicles will become the first choice of many drivers. However, the new energy logistics vehicle industry still needs to overcome the pressure of repeated epidemic, chip shortage and high production costs. It remains to be seen who will laugh the last.
